When requesting a quote, you will see fields for 'Loading Location' and 'Unloading Location.' To ensure your freight is moved safely and efficiently, you must identify whether a loading dock, forklift, crane, or other specialised equipment is available at both ends.

Providing accurate site details is vital for receiving a fair and binding quote.

If No Loading Facilities Are Available

If you select an option where no loading facilities are present (e.g., Residential, Commercial without loading, or Storage), you are notifying transport providers that you require a vehicle equipped with a tail lift (tailgate) or other loading equipment.

  • All quotes submitted under these categories should include the cost of these specialised loading services. However, please note in the 'Pallets' & the 'Pallecons' categories we will ask if you require a tailgate lift at collection & delivery. Please ensure you tick 'yes' if you wish for the providers to supply loading/unloading with their quotes.

If Loading Facilities Are Available

If you select an option that indicates loading/unloading facilities are onsite (e.g., Commercial with loading/unloadingFarmAuction Site, or Construction Site), you are confirming that you will handle the loading and unloading.

Pro Tip: If you are unsure, it is safer to select "no loading/unloading facilities available." This ensures the provider includes the necessary equipment in their initial price.

Why Accuracy Matters

If a provider quotes based on you handling the loading, but arrives to find no facilities available, it may result in a futile pickup or delivery. This often leads to:

  • Additional service charges.

  • Significant delays.

  • Job cancellations.
