Providers can now upload insurance documents to their Truckit profile for admin approval. Once your document is reviewed and approved, your profile will display:
That you hold insurance, and
The type of insurance you have provided.
This helps build trust with customers by making your coverage transparent.
Example of Profile that has uploaded insurance documents and has been approved:
Types of Insurance You Can Upload
1. Truck Insurance (Covers the Vehicle)
Truck insurance protects the vehicle itself against damage, accidents, theft, or other incidents.
Important: This insurance does not cover the goods being transported — it only applies to the vehicle.
2. Carrier’s Liability Insurance (Covers Cargo)
Carrier’s Liability insurance covers the goods being transported, whether you are operating as the principal provider, a subcontractor, or engaging another subcontractor.
Note: Insurers may use different names for this type of insurance. For Truckit purposes, any cargo coverage falls under this category.
3. Public Liability Insurance
Public Liability insurance provides coverage for claims arising from injury or property damage caused to third parties in the course of your work (e.g., at pickup or delivery locations).
4. Workers’ Compensation / Workers’ Cover
Workers’ Compensation insurance covers employees for work-related injuries or illnesses, providing wage replacement and medical benefits where legally required.
Important Notes
Approval does not mean Truckit guarantees coverage: Approval only confirms that, at the time of submission, you uploaded a valid certificate matching the selected type of insurance.
Customers should still perform due diligence: We recommend that customers request your current certificate of currency after booking to verify active coverage.
